Poing Interactive is a US investment start-up company, focusing on building a new way of delivering ads into games. Their main products are In Game Advertising Platform, and Playsqreen.
The In Game Advertisement Platform is a platform that delivers ads into games. Using this platform, they embed a fully integrated ad into a game, as its assets. Players will engage with ads as they engage with other game's assets or properties.
Playsqreen is a new breed of arcade. It's an Android PC with a 42 inch touchscreen TV in Shopping Malls, people can see, play and download games for free.
Poing operates their business all on DigitalOcean infrastructure. The system divided into 4 systems which contained a single Linux server for webserver and an installed open source MariaDB. They did not own any of Virtual Private Cloud when we approached, which was difficult to manage subnets and security.
Their operating system exposed too many risks to Poing system. Because of dividing systems, they experienced overloading and low level of security are the most common problems. That is, when many people access into the game simultaneously, but the system cannot automatically adjust its server size.
OSAM has provided necessary cloud services for Poing to consolidate their operating system. We designed their own Virtual Private Cloud, replaced HAproxy by ELB, set up Auto Scaling and CloudFront,..
Virtual Private Cloud: lets you provision a logically isolated section of the Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud.
ELB/NLB: for load balancing of TCP traffic where extreme performance is capable of handling million requests per second while maintaining ultra-low latencies
Auto Scaling: monitors your applications and automatically adjusts capacity to maintain steady, predictable performance at the lowest possible cost.
CloudFront: a web service that speeds up distribution of your static and dynamic web content.
We successfully set up 2 additional instances during normal traffic and scaling up to 4 or 5 instances when increases spikes. As a result, Poing now brings to their customers an end-to-end product experience. We also set up for their system successfully with high availability and scalability system on AWS infrastructure.
The system also works properly to serve unlimited requests, with no die endpoint. As a result, Poing has reduced their risk of data lose and decrease 30% in operation costs.
